Sadness and Despair

Ok, so the title is kind of a joke - Sadness and Despair are two street cats we've been fostering who went to a new home this week. You can read more about the pet situation below. There has been some sadness in recent life changes, but never despair. Life is complicated, isn't it?

We are enjoying being back in Namibia and it has brought us a lot of joy! We found our house and our cars in good condition, and have been warmly welcomed by many friends. Kevin is enjoying reconnecting with so many Kingdom workers (and of course, the biking) and Cami loves having an office again, instead of a corner of the dining room.
Charlie has been in 6 weeks of school so far, and it is going well. He is taking guitar lessons, starting a game group at his new school and also reconnecting with friends here. Please keep praying for him as leaving RVA and starting another new school was really painful for him. He is doing fantastic academically and adjusting.

Namibia...such great potential, 'Home of the Brave' is the country's motto and as I have been reconnecting with many missionaries and churches, attending Council of Church meetings and hearing the vision of Gods work in Namibia i am excited, only praying we are brave enough to go forward.

We are currently rereimagining the future of AIM in Namibia, especially about mobilizing the church to missions. Sadly, the workers are few...even as the harvest is waiting.

This month, an African mission mobilizer will come up from South Africa and together we will visit different churches and agencies to see what we can do to encourage others to missions.

Our Regional leader, Tshepang Basupi (from Botswana), is coming and we will visit our partners (looking forward to a fast 2500 mile tour in the truck) and then in November Kevin will facilitate a college group from Zambia who are interested in missions!

Pray with us to hear well and for God to send workers to Namibia and from Namibia as well.

Rejoicing and requests:
- Firstly, we are so thankful our move back has been uneventful and filled with friends reconnecting and peace in Namibia.
- We are thankful for the time we had together this last summer with Toby and then with my brother Keith and nephew Nate joining Toby and i on a Namibian safari (see pics below). What fun!
- Please pray for funds needed to pay for Charlie's private school. It is the only good option but very expensive. If you are interested in helping please contact us directly.
Thank you for praying!

Sadness and Despair – rescued from the street, lived with us for a month, and sent onward to live on a farm.  Cami’s hobby at the moment is helping the Cat Protection Society, which doesn’t take much time and brings her joy.  Currently we have a mother cat and 4 kittens, who will probably go to homes in the next 3 weeks.  The little puffballs are a delight and Georgie the dog is afraid of them, which is hillarious.

Georgie arrived safely last Saturday.  What a relief . . . we are so thankful, and appreciate the help to bring him back to us.  He is very happy here!   Next Saturday, we will adopt a 4-year old Great Dane with one eye from the SPCA, who was surrendered last month.  We need 2 dogs for security, and Georgie needs a friend.  We were so sad that Pepper died at the kennel in Kenya last month from a twisted intestine. Percy the cat is great.

Ok, so that’s a lot about pets.  Cami is busy with AfriGO and the new issue came out 2 weeks ago!  You can find it here.  More on AfriGO and new developments in our next letter.
