Somebody must be praying
What just happened to the last 3 months? It has been a whirlwind. We came from USA winter to Cape Town summer and are now in the winter here with lots of rain and quite cold (with no central heat!). But somebody must be praying, because God has smoothed so many things for us.

We are rolling along over here; Kevin is covering some miles visiting churches and Bible schools to share about AIM’s work. He continues to oversee Namibia and Angola. Our Zambian missionaries, Richard and Maggie Mwako, have applied for their Namibian work permits! Pray they will be approved soon and they can get started.
Cami is digging in at work and every time she goes to the office finds something else she ought to be doing. It has been overwhelming, though her colleagues are patient and helpful. Along with this, AfriGO was a heavy load this month, with a new issue launched, another one almost finished, and our latest French translation came out! She is not working on that, but had to assist getting it on the website.
Charlie is finding school good and is making some headway on relationships. This week he will do his first studio recording, an assignment to record an acoustic instrument. Toby is well in Australia, enjoying his job doing admin in a nationwide therapy program for little children.
| Some of you remember when we raised money for a car back in 2007 before we went out to Mozambique. That money became a 1992 Land Cruiser. After six years, we sold that and bought a 2011 Toyota Hilux. When we sold THAT we had enough to buy a 2014 Hilux AND a used Honda Fit because cars are much cheaper in Namibia than in Mozambique. We used those in Namibia for 10 years and sold them last year when we left. That money has now purchased this 2020 Honda HRV! At any point we could have had a blown-up car, but God preserved this investment right up until today. We stand amazed. We thank God for this reliable car which is large enough to carry visitors and small enough to fit in our tiny garage. Thanks again to all who contributed 20 years ago to our car fund! |
Groundbreaking issue
This topic has been on my mind for awhile and this year we were able to put together an issue on this subject. Every article is written by an African leader, and every article is a heavy-hitter. I am so amazed! We struggled at times to find people to write on this subject, but in the end it all came together and the declarations made (“No one is ‘anointed’ to break God’s commands“) and subjects covered (pornography, spiritual and sexual abuse, child safety, silence at misconduct) are clear and biblical.

- We have just about finished settling in, with furniture found here and there and a lovely bit of green yard out the back.
- Charlie is enjoying school and making some relationships.
- We got a car and are learning our way around! Kevin is enjoying his mountain bike again and Cami is at the pool, swimming for good back health.

- Pray for Richard and Maggie Mwako as they wait for work permits and prepare to leave for Namibia.
- Continue to pray for us as settle and find a church, make relationships, learn the ins and outs of our new jobs, and work with the team here.
- Don’t forget to pray for the Epps in Angola. We also need to decide, with our partners, where to send new missionaries in Angola.
- Pray for help to come alongside Cami in the form of people to take on some tasks, and for wisdom for her in how to find these people.
