Our first missionaries to Angola!

Way back in 2018, Cami made her first trip to Angola and we began the process of writing job descriptions for AIM missionaries to Angola.  Subsequent trips in 2019 and 2022 yielded solid candidates from Brazil, Mathias Epp and his wife Yadira, together with their two little girls.  Kevin went to Angola twice more, and we have been waiting and hoping for the Epps to get their paperwork processed since 2022.  And this week, they got their Angolan visas!  We hope they will arrive in Huambo, Angola, in May to begin their ministry to Angolan pastors through discipleship and agricultural training.
Angola is a country which has only come out of civil war in 2002, leaving behind people who are traumatized and an infrastructure which is tattered.  They have made tremendous strides since then, but there are many needs both spiritual and physical all across the nation, and we are thankful that the Epps are called to Angola, and arriving soon.  Please pray with us for their transition, for their time meeting with Kevin in May, and for their relationship with our trusted local partner.

So much to do, so little time . . .
In the next months, we need to get this big house ready to rent or sell, find temporary homes for our pets, sell most of the furniture, pack our belongings for the Capetown move and find storage, assist with a huge event at Charlie’s school, and Kevin has three ministry trips.  He leaves for the first one this week.  There’s a lot going on and we appreciate your prayers for peace and for a smooth exit from Namibia on June 2nd.

Thanks for praying for our boys

Charlie continues to work toward finishing his high school diploma, mostly online, and probably won’t finish until October.  Please continue to pray for him as he strives to finish his first semester by our departure in June.
Toby is really enjoying his internship with the Trauma Healing Network here in Namibia and even getting a chance to do some informal counseling.  He is learning a lot and very positive about going into a career as a certified counselor.  Please pray for his next steps.

Other prayer and praise items
1. Cami has some big decisions to make regarding work in the next year or so.  She needs to cut back on her AfriGO work during furlough and still has no help coming.  Please pray for help and for wisdom.
2. CONTINUE to pray for Richard and Maggie Mwako of Zambia. There has been some movement on their financial support, but it is nowhere near the amount needed.  Kevin had a great visit with Richard up in Katima in February.
3.  Pray for Kevin’s trip to Rundu, 7 hours north of here, this week.  He will be teaching on servant leadership and biblical conflict resolution to Bible school students, pastors and lay leaders.
4.  And pray for us as we wrap up our time in Namibia.  Our hearts are sad even as we know that God is leading us.  We are looking forward to furlough and will be settling in the Northeast in August after travels to Capetown, a brief stop in Connecticut, and some time with Cami’s family.
