And now?

Capetown, South Africa was a great stopover for us, spending 9 days resting, seeing friends and visiting the Cape Audio College, where Charlie plans to start his Bachelor’s in Sound Design next February. Yes, it is winter in South Africa! Our 21 hour bus ride went fine, time together was great, and we enjoyed the fireplace at our host’s home, to stay warm.

We arrived at JFK airport last Thursday morning after a flight from Capetown to Nairobi via Vic Falls, a short layover, and then a jam-packed flight to New York. And, no luggage to be found. It was delivered, unharmed, 2 days later and we were thankful! We are enjoying some visits with Kevin’s family this week, and are being kindly hosted by members of Black Rock Church here along the Connecticut coast. Thursday, we’ll travel to Cami’s family for an extended visit and will return to Connecticut at the end of July. More concrete plans to come!
We ended our residency in Namibia well. Just those few words encompass so much . . . packing, sorting, wrapping up details, saying goodbyes. It was a lot. We did find a temporary place for the cat and he’ll have a better place starting in July. The house sale (this is AIM’s house) is still in process, and our belongings which move to Capetown are in storage in a friend’s garage.

Cami attended the SEND Africa conference in Zimbabwe a couple of weeks before we left, which is an exciting movement of African leaders and missions agencies to encourage the African Church to send and support missionaries. Valuable contacts, valuable conversations, inspiring! Many had heard of AfriGO and those who had not were glad to learn about it.
And now? We are continuing on in ministry with AIM, certainly! But we will be doing it from Capetown, South Africa starting in February, 2026. More on our specific roles later, though Cami will continue at least part-time with AfriGO and Kevin will continue to oversee and visit our personnel in Namibia and Angola.
Other prayer and praise items
1. Pray for good times with Cami’s family over this next month, and smooth travel onwards where Kevin will visit Tennessee Valley Community Church and Cami and Charlie will visit dear friends and supporters in Minnesota.
2. CONTINUE to pray for Richard and Maggie Mwako of Zambia. There has been some movement on their financial support, but it is nowhere near the amount needed.
3. CONTINUE to pray for the Epp family, awaiting documents to travel from Brazil to Angola and begin their ministry there.
4. Pray for the last details of our time here to be worked out. The most needed is a vehicle to use while we are here until February. Do you know of a reliable one for sale? One we can borrow? Let us know.
