Faces from home and from far, all beloved

In June, we welcomed a team of 12 from home.Black Rock Church, our main supporting church, sent a team that included four kids and a teenager!  Kevin took them all up to the northern border where they did children’s ministry, taught at the small Bible School, and supported the school with fixing up the bathrooms.  A local friend of ours, an expert plumber, accompanied them and not only fixed stuff, but was a great asset to ministry.  It was wonderful to have a team that was so willing to serve and so easy to work with.  What a blessing. They made a video about it which you can see here:  https://youtu.be/mjRMVxSX-oc?feature=shared

“The Zambians are coming!” Another small group of men are coming this year from a seminary in Zambia, arriving July 31st for a missions exposure trip with Kevin. Pray they receive the funds they need to cover food and travel! And that their hearts will be ready to be stretched and moved by what He would teach in and through them!  African missionaries – it’s what’s next.
Pray for the missions conference we are putting on here in Windhoek.  Last year was the first, and it was a success!  Please pray that more local pastors come this year, to catch the vision for missions.
Pray for Kevin as he is busy getting all his ‘ducks’ to form a row…before the end of the month when he drives 15 hours back north to receive the Zambian seminary students. They’ll have ministry up there, then he’ll travel with them back to Windhoek to welcome another group from Tennessee and co-lead the missions conference. Then he immediately heads out again with the Tennessee group for a missions trip to the Bushmen.  He has a lot of details to finalize!
“The Tennesseans are coming”! Yup, on the heels of the Zambians, a group from one of our supporting churches in Tennessee is coming to do ministry in the NyeaNyea conservancy amongst the Bushman (San) people. This will prove to be stretching and sweet. Pray for their preparations as they get ready to come in early August (and bring Charlie’s textbooks).
We can stay! After it was granted, there were some unexpected moments of uncertainly around the latest work permit, but now it is confirmed for 2 more years. This was a huge answer to prayer as Immigration has begun to make it more difficult, and recently a short-term visitor was arrested for sharing at church. At this point, we plan on coming back to the USA next year at this time for furlough.  Get ready.

2.  Praise God for the new volunteer Angolan managing editor to help with the Portuguese version.  Pray for them to work well together and get more issues out.
