The kids are back and in-person classes started last week. Friday night, we helped the 9th graders sell concessions before skit night, and they were full of high spirits and joy at being together again. RVA is sometimes called the "School in the Clouds". You can buy the book here. Last week, an RVA teacher sent out her update with info all about RVA and it is worth sharing - such an interesting place! We are grateful to be able to support this ministry - without it, many missionaries could not continue their work in remote places. RVA began in 1906! AIM began with a small group of courageous men and women as they moved to Africa with a dream to develop mission stations from the coast of Kenya to Lake Chad. The vision of Charles Hurlburt was to have a school that cared for the children of missionaries, including his own. Thus began the vision and genesis of RVA. You can read more about it here. RVA has approximately 450 students and 150 residential staff. We are located in Kijabe, Kenya on the edge of the Rift Valley on a 90+ acre campus. We all live together and do life together! Interested in what our campus looks like? You can check that out here. Students come from 20-30+ different countries (depending on the year). We are a diverse group! I love walking around campus hearing the variety of languages spoken. It is a blessing for us to spend our days with kids from across the globe. RVA serves around 70 different mission agencies. We are so thankful for the families we serve both in Kijabe and around Africa. Our mission at RVA is to educate and disciple students toward their potential in Christ, thus enabling families to serve across the African continent. RVA students are incredible!! While at RVA, students receive an excellent education but also have the opportunity for sports, drama, fine arts, leadership development, as well as spiritual formation. 95% of RVA graduates attend university with the rest choosing a gap year, volunteer work, or employment. Praise and Prayer: 1. The kids are back and in school! Pray that good health continues and that the school admin has wisdom through their many decisions and challenges. 2. Cami is in Namibia this week to visit the Wildgens, revisit local partnerships, do admin, and see some friends. Pray for safe travel and that all can be accomplished. 3. We praise God for His provision and care for us. 4. The new Managing Editor for AfriGO is working out great and is a big help. Please continue to pray for help for Cami and the team in website and social media work.
