Parts of the job we hate

The good news is that the things we struggle with are not living in Namibia, being cross-cultural missionaries, or serving you!
But, just like you likely, there are parts of our jobs that we would rather not do, and there’s been a lot of that over the last months. Kevin has to fulfill requests from the Namibian government to confirm that AIM is not involved with terrorism! All charity organizations here are being asked for this. It means he’s been chasing down documents from board members as well as financial documents, with a lot of detail work.
For Cami, the last six months have been full of trying to shift online program tools, website hosting, website tools, and publishing tools. Most of this has been in efforts to reduce AfriGO’s budget, which took some big hits this year. She has found much of it frustrating, though there have been successes amidst some gnashing of teeth!
The next challenge is to onboard a publishing software that will increase the pace of our language translations and improve the efficiency of the team. Please pray for her as she has been struggling with this for some time. Pray for technical help.
And by the way, Merry Christmas to all! Truly we are blessed in our Savior and His GRACE and MERCY.

The new issue of AfriGO came out this week! It is on how African healthcare workers can influence the world with the Gospel – their stories, and some “how to” for medical workers who want to make a difference. You can read it by clicking on the photo or here.
Last week, the new Portuguese issue came out after plenty of work from Cami and Joseph. You can see it on the website here. We hope to increase the speed of work on these translations, including the Swahili version. Please pray for this – we are getting requests from all over Africa for Portuguese, French, and Swahili issues to help the African Church find their feet in encouraging, supporting, and sending African missionaries!
Prayer and Praise:
1. Charlie finished the semester better than expected and is beginning to make some relationships outside of school.
2. We can’t wait to see Toby and Kevin’s mom, Carol, when we meet them up at Victoria Falls next week! We will have just over 2 weeks together there and here in Windhoek. Lots of driving, and the very best of Christmas presents!
3. Pray with us for some financial needs and trust in God’s provision.
4. Cami got a disappointing report from the doctor about her back and this week had injections and nerve burning under anesthesia to try to improve the situation. Pray it helps.
5. Continue to pray for the Epp family in Brazil as they process paperwork to try to come to Angola. They have gotten all of their support! Praise God!
